Thoughts on turning 29
Despite today’s blogoversy (which somehow became a discussion of music tax, which was not my intention, but anyhow), I did turn 29 on Thursday.Last year I wrote thisThis year I write this:mehCan’t say that I’m any different than what I noticed at 28, just that I’ve had a year of stress, scheming, traveling, fun, exhaustion and fortunately no bad situations to mine or anyone else I care about. There are a lot of things in motion right now and some degrees of uncertainty, but I’m happy that I go to a job I love, work with people that are awesome, work with bands I love and get to innovate in a medium I care deeply about. So here are my hopes leading up to my 30th year:
- Drupal takes off as the platform for many different industries and we can help engage in open source development to drive that through things like Gnomepal and Ubercart.
- People start understanding the value of modularization and API’s in regards to making complex structures out of formerly hierarchical systems
- Innovation gets spread, and the walls binding the producers and consumers goes away completely. Decentered production/consumption!
- Amy and I are healthy and happy, hopefully buy a house at some point and have a kid too
- Everyone I care about in the world continues to have health and success
That’s it.Â
Hey, my year-old comment still seems pretty fresh (if I don’t mind saying so). Happy Birthday!
Rock on.
