Mr. Uptime Watches Sites When They’re Slashdotted, Dugg, Reddited : this is retarded. Come on Mashable, can’t you actually have some editorial control over what you post? How is a site that does HTTP pings to a site going to help when its slashdotted?????? Apache will still open a connection for that request and it’ll just cause more runaway threads.
