Twitter, Ustream — how much is too much? » mathewingram.com/work: “is this the future?” no actually, its the past with better technology, upstream bandwidth and different people other than cam-whores on the other end of the CCD. Stickam, UStream, et al are just making easier what has existed in both the seedy underbelly of the Internet (NetMeeting hubs, CUSEEME, etc) and just is “there.” Chris, Robert, etc are evolving technologically, and certainly connecting things in interesting fashions, but aren’t doing anything revolutionary at all.

  1. Thanks for the link, Ethan. And you are right, not revolutionary — but still fascinating in a weird kind of way.

Thanks for mentioning CUSeeMe — that’s exactly what I thought of when I saw Stickam, but I couldn’t remember what it was called :-)
