Hi, makers of Saft, I have a suggestion!
Hello fine people who made the awesome Safari utility Saft. You have made a killer product that is essential for any professional web person. The best functionality is that Saft saves the state of your browsers so you can restore open browsers/tabs when you restart Safari.
Since Safari crashes sometimes, this is essential.
Here is something I would like you to implement, if you could: the ability to transfer browser states between machines.
How often are you at work with 30 or so open Safari windows, and tons of things you need to read and you have to go home. Your poor wife, waiting at home to go to dinner. Maybe a pug or a cat at home too. Whimpering. Sad.
Wouldn’t it be great if I could go to the Safari menu, select “Send to another machine” or “Send via e-mail” and it’d Bonjour or e-mail over to my nice fancy new Mac Book Pro (C2D) and I can continue as is?
I have most of my tools talking between machines thanks to Microsoft Exchange (yes, I said it), NewsGator and .Mac Sync. This would make me a turbo road warrior guru, and make my wife happy.
This is a feature built into Camino for syncing your bookmarks – and I believe you can also have it sync your current open tabs.
I really just wish that I could tell Saft to load all windows from a text file (that it has exported).
Yes – I also HIGHLY agree, but .mac syncing should not be the only option, hopefully just a simple FTP sync would be lovely as well.
“How often are you at work with 30 or so open Safari windows, and tons of things you need to read and you have to go home.”
Rarely. I am competent enough to structure my professional and private life bettar than that, and feel no need to remain ustructured so that I can, bizarrely enough, brag about it on my blog.
“Your poor wife, waiting at home to go to dinner.”
I take your social and gender views are deeply rooted in the 1950′s… Great progressive thinking!!!
