Heading to GA
I’m heading to Athens, GA tonight on a red-eye flight. I’m heading down for the celebration of R.E.M.’s induction into the GA Music Hall of Fame, as well as the release of their new retrospective disk. Athens is among my favorite towns on the planet, and is home to some of my best friends and acquaintances. The last time I went down was four years ago, right when I started dating Amy.
A lot has changed in that time span, but Athens hasn’t, which is why I love it. I’ll have pictures, reports, etc from the road through the week.
Ethan, I wanted to post this story (about the new CD/DVD and R.E.M.’s Georgia connections) on Murmurs.com, but because of a technical problem, the site has refused to let me log in for almost two years. I thought maybe if I sent the link directly to you, perhaps you could pass it along to others who might want to read it.
