.Mac’s slow death – The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW): .mac is so stupid. Apple is sitting on a HUGE base of social people who have music, photo, video and textual collections residing in amazing software, and they use OTHER PEOPLE SERVICES to coalesce that into a social framework. How nice would it be if my .mac account page showed what I was listening to, photos (live updating no less), my iTunes catalog, ichat status, geoloc location if I’m mobile, etc. Wake the fuck up Apple, its time to you know, manage a product group. I heard rumblings though that .mac got a new project manager, so things should be looking up soon.
