on conferences
I went to the Bandwidth Conference this weekend in San Francisco. It was for tech people in the music industry ostensibly. It wasn’t very good. Don’t get me wrong, it was great to finally meet some people (like Ted Cohen) and some other industry types in the “we know OF each other, but not each other” mode. However, the conference was non-stop panels (which SUCK very badly) and was a lot of dogs-chasing-tails. I lost my cool only once during one panel and ranted on how you can make money in P2P because after all, its “pure math.” No lie. It is. Anyhow, the second day, the conference was half as attended as the first, so I left early and worked in my hotel room. The end. I should stage my own conference.
