Yahoo! – The best time to invest in a company is after survives a business model collapse. Yahoo the interactive studio of the future? The Media industry was about content and distribution. No bearing on technology, technology happened in some other place and every 10 to 15 years there was more. Yahoo and the Internet, big difference. Content is what Yahoo! is about, engineering and technology is the secondary aspect that is contingent and a necessary predicate for distribution.
Yahoo is about users, but Yahoo also license, looks for partners, uses its infrastructure for distribution.
What is Yahoo!? Yahoo is a content distribution company, but it has the ability to be more flexible and agile than other media companies. They are trying to create a new experience, new attempts to bring the Internet into new areas.
The issue of China: it is inevitable, you have to conform to conform to the laws of China.
Google – doing a good job in search, but have not gotten into other markets. They were the pioneer, there alone. Yahoo has been in search for a year and a half. Others are coming into search.
The big change is not getting more and more unique users to things. As we go forward is about deeper engagement, more time spent, more satisfactory experiences for users and advertisers.
